I am, as Tom has referred to me in an email last week, one of the VOWVOP diaspora. At Maxine's request, Tom worked with me on several of my stories: prodding, questioning, encouraging and praising where needed. He helped me out of my shell.

A year or so before, Maxine had guided me similarly,  helping me take my tiny, wounded point of view to a much more personal and powerful expression. I can only surmise that Tom shares some of that nurturing genius. Bless them both.

I am so fortunate to have met and worked with Maxine and Tom. The other members of the group live in phrases, stories, heart and soul in my everyday. 

And when the bell rings, I fall silent.
